Discipline PvP Macro's (cata edition)

I thought I'd compile a list of macro's I find useful when PvP'ing as Discipline, feel free to add any you use and I'll update OP!

Focus Mouseover

Code: Select all

/focus [target=mouseover,exists][exists]
/stopmacro [target=mouseover,exists][exists]
/clearfocus


This will make your mouseover target your focus. If you don't have a mouseover target, it will focus your target and if you have no target it will clear your focus! All you could need for fast switching in arena.

Spammable Mass Dispel

Code: Select all

#showtooltip Mass Dispel
/cast !Mass Dispel


This is essential for getting rid of bubbles, Ice Blocks & other aura's quickly. This will let you spam the button without losing the target reticule.

Ultimate Shadowfiend Button

Code: Select all

/cast [nopet] Shadowfiend
/petaggressive
/petattack
/cast [harm, pet] Shadowcrawl; [target=pettarget, pet] Shadowcrawl
/cast [target=pet,exists]Dispel Magic


A 100% must for controlling your pet. If no shadowfiend is up, it will summon it, set to aggressive and attack your target. (spam it for best results) If you press again, it will dispel you fiend! Perfect for those pesky frost mages.

Fear Ward

/cast [target=pet,modifier:ctrl] Fear Ward; Fear Ward


One of my favorites! Press the button to fear ward your target, "Ctrl" + Button to fear ward your Shadowfiend & if you have self cast key on, "Alt" + button to fear ward yourself. Great for fear warding howls and screams.

Shadow Word: Death

/cancelaura Power Word: Shield
/cancelaura Divine Aegis
#showtooltip Shadow Word: Death
/stopcasting
/cast [@focus,modifier:shift] Shadow Word: Death; Shadow Word: Death
/use Bloodthirsty Gladiator's Mooncloth Gloves

This is 100% required for serious discipline PvP. It cancels any possible absorbs on yourself, casts SW:D on your target. It also cancels any casts in progress & will cast on your focus if you hold "shift". Non-engineers can remove the last line. This macro can win games for your team.

Shadow Word: Death #2

Code: Select all

#showtooltip Shadow Word: Death
/stopcasting
/cast [harm] Shadow Word: Death; [target=targettarget, harm] Shadow Word: Death

This will SW:D your nearest target. Handy for when bus dispelling others or when you lose focus. [Credit to Puddingcup]

Dispel Party Members

Code: Select all

/stopcasting
/cast [target=partyX] Dispel Magic

This will dispel party members without losing your current target. It also will cancel any cast currently in progress! Make sure to change "X" to the desired party members number (i.e. 1 2 3) I normally bind these to mousewheel scrolls for super fast dispels.


Totem Seeking Missile Wand

Code: Select all

#showtooltip Shoot
/castsequence !Shoot, !Shoot

This will allow you to spam your wand without canceling the animation. Great for destroying totems.

If a mod would prefer this in the macro section then please feel free to move it. I assumed it would be more appropriate here as they are related to both discipline & PvP

How would you modify this to cast on target of target? I'm a macro noob, and a PvP noob, so I just want it for raiding. My current one casts on a focus but it still doesn't work all of the time, and sometimes I forget to focus the boss. :(

Fantastic. I've learned a few tricks here that I didn't know or consider! I'm Shadow...but still! The SW:D/no absorbs macro in particular should be helpful in my quest to finally master SW:Ding a Polymorph...
